MobileHost was formed in late 2004 when Chavous Camp, owner of Salter & Camp Consultants, was finally fed up with putting together "impossible" proposals for his smaller clients.  Many of his clientele wanted, and desperately needed, feature-rich Exchange-based e-mail available on their mobile SmartPhones.  Unfortunately, many of these clients only had five to ten users, with only two or three of them needing mobile email.  If these users did not have ANY Exchange environment previously, the proposals were routinely in the $10,000 range just to light up three phones with email!  If, by some chance, the customer DID have exchange already, justifying an additional server and several thousand dollars in software just to light up  a few phones went over almost as poorly.
 
While Chavous never was rejected outright by his clients, they would delay, and think about the solution, trying to justify it.  Chavous, himself, could hardly give them the proposal with a straight face, knowing full well the client either couldn't afford it or, more importantly, WOULDN'T afford it.
 
Also, frustrated with other hosting arrangements, and having had his fill of poor security at other local hosting companies, Chavous decided to put together his own hosting platform, using his many years of experience with server and network security as a base.  As such, MobileHost was born. 
 
Today, MobileHost is run out of a Tier-1 datacenter located in the heart of Downtown Columbia. With enough fuel on site for 21 days of continuous usage and internal environmental and fire controls designed to keep the center in an ideal state for computers, MobileHost is leagues above those "other" local providers that just have a stack of servers running in some back office.  We're here to provide a better hosting experience for our customers - and we're succeeding.
